New Albany is a village in Franklin and Licking Counties in the U.S. state of Ohio, just northeast of the state capital of Columbus. Most of the village is located in Franklin County; only a small portion of the village extends into adjacent Licking County. The population was 3,711 at the 2000 census; it was estimated to have increased to 6,588 by 2007. Founded in 1837, it is now a growing suburb in the Columbus area. The New Albany Country Club constitutes a significant portion of the village, and the golf course has 27 holes.
